The Walkers Jersey office signed a statement supporting the Jersey Institute of Directors’ 2020 vision statement on Jersey Diversity and Inclusion, signaling its intention to collaborate with and support the IOD Jersey in creating a diversity and inclusion leadership charter, to encourage and support tangible diversity and inclusion action (D&I).

The firm recently established a Channel Islands Diversity and Inclusion Committee chaired by partner Alexandra Corner, who also sits on the firm’s Global D&I Committee with representatives from the firm’s Asian, Caribbean and European offices. .

One of the first acts of the local committee was to organize unconscious bias training for all Walkers employees in Jersey and Guernsey. Group.

The Jersey Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Charter is intended to set out core D&I principles such as:

  • Promote and encourage diversity and inclusion, raise awareness of the benefits of ‘talking the talk’ and leading dialogues on best practice within our organizations and the wider island community.
  • Prevent illegal discrimination, build a representative workforce from all walks of life, and respect every employee, volunteer, supplier and customer.
